Dandana
Dandana is a musical coalition inspired by skateboarding and rhythm. Band members are Bas Ackermann, Gianni Tjon Pau, Jackson Loman, Tijmen van Wageningen and Ebou Gaye Mada.
Blending their (vintage & modern) synthesizer-sound with the influence of raw funk, gritty soul, psych, 70’s soundtracks, fuzzy African highlife and groovy rhythms, to create their own sound and flavor.
By building up hypnotizing jams, Dandana slowly unfolds infectious drone grooves over its audience. Exploring and combining their musical roots and diverse backgrounds; ranging from punk, hip-hop, mbalax, psych, dub, early-house to classical music.
Dandana originated in 2012 and started shaping their sound and style in-between skateboarding the streets of their hometown The Hague / The Netherlands.
In 2015 Dandana independently released their debut LP Third World Nightclub, which embodies the creative sum of their diversity in musical interest. Worldly music, born on the streets.
