John Strang

John Strang
Short-time folk singer-songwriter. His only output was a private LP with 2 other friends titled "The Masterpeace", which embellishes themes such as death, Armageddon, atomic bombs, drugs, and the questioning of reality itself. This material was written at the tail-end of 1967 and released in 1968 when Strang was 17. It is estimated that only 25 copies were made. Strang picked them up from the studio, put them in a rucksack, and walked several miles with them to his home. Possibly only 15 or so have survived.

Transatlantic Records offered a deal in 1970 for a concept album about mental illness, but after making and recording the entire album, titled "Shame And Stigma", Strang decided to pursue a different career in the psychiatry of drug addiction. This album is currently being restored from fragments of tapes and set to be released in 2021. Strang still continues to write and play music today, though he has no plans of recording or releasing this material.
