Nassau-based Frankie ‘Zhivago’ Young was part of the musical scene that created the Island Soul sound– mixing local junkanoo and Goombay rhythms with the US RnB and Soul sounds that filtered over from Miami.
Frankie was recognised for his outstanding contribution to arts, entertainment and music, during a ceremony, July 5 2016, held in Pompey Square, Bahamas. The event being part of the country’s 43rd Independence Anniversary Celebrations.
