In 1970 Philippe Sautot and Dr. Jürgen Moll established the company Delta Music GmbH in Großkönigsdorf/Frechen near Cologne (Köln). During its early years, this company used the names "Delta Music" and "Delta" interchangeably for their label Delta. Later on, the name "Delta Music" was only used to refer to the record company.
During the 1990s/2000s, the name "Delta Music" was also the name of their UK affiliate, located in Orpington, Kent.
