Better known as the composer of the million-selling country classic "Back Street Affair", Oklahoma-born Billy Wallace now resides in Alabama and fronts his band the Bama Drifters, recently signing a recording contract with the Mercury people. For some time the Drifters have been drifting towards the rockabilly style, albeit in a strongly acoustic way, dominated by the leader's excellent guitar - which he calls "Mr Gibson" for obvious reasons.
