Reissued on vinyl, including the original gatefold artwork of the French edition, this is the 1969 cult album by the Belgian chanteuse Claude Lombard. Though at the time she was mainly known for lending her voice to children's cartoons and an appearance at the 1968 edition of the Eurovision song contest, 'Chante' is a completely different affair. The album contains gorgeous, sophisticated pop songs, at times with a psychedelic - or sci-fi - feel, that will stun fans of anything from Astrud Gilberto to White Noise to The Roger Webb Sound. And those into more recent acts s.a. Stereolab and (early) Broadcast are warned as well!
