"Karl Burian war österreichischer Soldat.
Als habsburgertreuer Monarchist und Widerstandskämpfer
wurde er im Oktober 1938 während der Vorbereitung zur Sprengung
des Wiener Gestapo-Hauptquartiers arrestiert
und nach über fünfjähriger Untersuchungshaft am 13. März 1944
im Landgericht Wien wegen Hochverrats enthauptet.
Dies ist der Grund, warum dieses Lied auf der Melodie der
österreichischen Kaiserhymne basiert.
Die eingespielte Rede wurde von Kaiser Karl I.
im Februar 1916 eingesprochen."
