Before being bitten by the cumbia virus, Guillermo 'Memo' Pimiento played in various bands, from rock to electronic, trip hop, reggae and even a traditional mariachi band. Once on a holiday in the Spanish Canary Islands, the inspiration came to him to start making cumbia but with a heavier electronic feeling, influenced by Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode. For this he uses synthesizers and keyboards from the '80s, samplers, circuit bended toys, Arduino soundcards and effect pedals. All of this makes the typical electrified Memo Pimiento sound. He is joined by 2 band members, the Belgian Manon Amen (nicknamed Man.on) who is the female MC and dancer of the band to fire up the crowd and by Cuban percussionist Victor Hugo for some extra percussive power. Only few available, so be fast!
