The new set from genre defying San Antonio combo Snowbyrd. The album title is derived from drummer Manny Castillos middle name, which translated literally from Spanish means "God given". Castillo died in early 2009 at the age of 40 after a brief battle with lung cancer. The discs 14 tracks include 7 new compositions recorded with Grammy winning producer Joe Trevino just weeks before Castillos diagnosis. The remaining tracks were culled from the bands archive of unreleased studio recordings with Manny. Diosdado is a simultaneous tribute to Mannys singular, bombastic style and a document of the inimitable sound forged with longtime friends and band mates, the brothers Lutz. The band fuses disparate influencesranging Brit-pop, Prog-rock, Shoegaze and Alt-Country into something distinctly Texan. In keeping with Castillos wishes Snowbyrd continue to perform regularly around San Antonio and in other major Texas cities.
