Chris Clark
Chris Clark (born February 1, 1946) in Santa Cruz, California, began her career with Motown during the 1960's. She was signed a "tall, tan, blue-eyed, bluesy-sounding" recording artist, who soon moved on to writing and co-writing music for herself and other Motown acts. Clark became famous in England as the "white Negress" (a nickname meant as a compliment), since she toured with fellow Motown artists. She received an Academy Award nomination as a screenwriter for Motown's film, "Lady Sings the Blues".
