DCVDNS

DCVDNS
Rapper from St. Ingbert, Germany. The significence of his artist name is unclear. He often claims DCVDNS stands for "Der Coole von der neuen Schule" ("The cool guy from the new school") or "Dominik Christoph von der Nordsee" ("Dominik Christoph from the North Sea"). Under his artist name on the cover of his EP "Könnt ihr behalten" is written "Einfach auf die Tastatur gehauen". It means that he created his artist name during typing random on his keyboard. On his first appearance on "TV Total" he said that DCVDNS stands for "Super intelligentes Drogenopfer" which is the write out of the artist name of Sido. He also claims that his real name is Dominik.

His raps and videos are a parody to the (German) Hip-Hop scene, especially Gangsta Rap but generally he takes the genre seriously. He has good relations to many Berlin-based rappers like Frauenarzt, MC Basstard or Blokkmonsta. He also featured Kool Savas on his "Warum rappst du?"- Tour 2012 with other rappers like Laas Unlimited and Montez. On the "Tourban aus Schaf"- Tour in 2013 hw toured with his album "Der Wolf im Schafspelz".He found the music groups "Inglebirds" and "Coole Gang". With the latter he also made a short comedy video series which featured controversial humor and posted it on YouTube. Hermann Weiss and Wolfgang H were part of the groups and featured him on on his studio albums.

Before "Der Wolf im Schafspelz" was released his style was not as seriously as it is at the time. Before his second album he worn a for hip hop untypical red slip-over from the brand Lacoste and glasses. (The latter until today.) On a skit on his solo debut "Brille" and in interviews he said that he wear them to hide from public. He changed his style and his public perfomance after his first appearance on TV Total where he gift his slip-over to Stefan Raab.
