Florian Weber
Florian Weber (born 20 November 1977 in Detmold) is a German jazz pianist and composer. Since 2007 he is professor and director of the jazz department at the university in Osnabrück. He studied jazz piano in Köln with Hans Lüdemann and John Taylor. Afterwards he studied in Boston with Paul Bley and in New York with Richie Beirach and Lee Konitz. He won the Belmont Prize of the Forberg-Schneider Foundation in Germany and the 1. Prize at Monaco jazzcompetition at the Montreux Jazz Festival. He has played with Markus Stockhausen, Pat Metheny, Lee Konitz, Michael Brecker, Albert Mangelsdorff, Ralph Alessi, Thomas Morgan, Nasheet Waits, Dan Weiss, Angelika Niescier.
