Ingo Werner

Ingo Werner
Ingo Werner is best-known to Krautrock fans as the organist and multi-instrumental talent who started his career in the Krautrock band My Solid Ground, before going on to form his own project Baba Yaga.
Ingo doesn't just work in rock though, he's worked in the classical avant-garde (studies under Johannes Fritsch) and in new-wave / electro-pop (with Jyl, Angela Werner, etc.), and in other fields.

Here's a rough translation of a biography I found on a classical site: Classical training in Mainz and at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt (1966-70) bassoon and piano. Since 1970 work at various electronic studios. First major premiere with the Ensemble "AIR" at ARS Electronica in Linz, Austria 1980. Production and other works with Charlie Mariano, Christoph Haberer, etc.
In 2004 he completed his first major electronic work "Chromasphere: Die Farben des Jahres" premiered 13/6/2004 in Berlin. Since then he has diversified, doing: sound composition, classical electronics, meditation music, new-age and "Hörbeispiel" radio/soundtrack music.
No mention of his rock career at all, although clearly the same person when you cross-reference it all!
