The company was incorporated on 31 January 1997 as a Public Limited Company, Eagle Rock Entertainment PLC by Terry Shand, Geoff Kempin and Julian Paul, three former colleagues at Castle Communications. On 5 December 2001 Eagle Rock Entertainment PLC was changed to a private limited company, becoming Eagle Rock Entertainment Ltd. The company changed name to Mercury Studios Media Ltd. on 1 December 2020.
