Stardust Records

Canadian reissue label known for quasi-legitimate reissue 45s (mastered from existing vinyl records; it occasionally issued singles with odd artist and/or song pairings) and compilation CDs of questionable mastering quality.

Issued numerous singles under the Underground Records, Classic* and The Beat Goes On* labels from the mid-Seventies to at least 1995.

*Do not confuse these other Stardust/Underground imprints with the reissue labels Classic Records and BGO Records respectively.

Despite the various names used by this company, the catalog numbers usually had the URC-xxxx catalog number on the label.

Distributed Elvis Presley reissue 45s under the Underground brand under license from RCA Records in the early 1980s when that label deleted those singles from its catalog; these reissues were pressed by RCA Special Products' Canadian branch.
