Poing
POING started playing together in 1999, and has since then been a interesting ensemble for contemporary music in Scandinavia.
They started out playing music by young Norwegian composers on clubs and festivals in Scandinavia. The repertoire has been extended to include new works from more established composers from all parts of the world, as well as improvised music, Kurt Weill or whatever tune the POING wants to play.
POING has visited large music festivals as well as clubs in Europe, China and Japan. They have also toured Japan and China several times. This has led to a cooperation with the Japanese composers Sachiyo Tsurumi, Hiroyuki Yamamoto, Hideki Kozakura and Takmi Ikeda, and the Chinese composer CHAN Hig-Yan.
