René Jacobs
Countertenor and conductor of Baroque and early Classical music (born October 30, 1946, Ghent, Belgium).
He founded his own ensemble, the Concerto Vocale, in 1977.
Jacobs regularly conducts such orchestras and ensembles as the Concerto Köln, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Freiburger Barockorchester, Nederlands Kammerchor and RIAS-Kammerchor for recordings and concert tours.
