The Darkness
The Darkness is a British rock band formed in Lowestoft, Suffolk in 2000 by brothers Justin Hawkins and Dan Hawkins. Together with Frankie Poullain and Ed Graham the band recorded and released their debut album Permission to Land in 2003. Poullain left the band in 2005 and was replaced by Richie Edwards, before the release of One Way Ticket to Hell ...and Back. Lead-singer Justin Hawkins announced he had left the band in October 2006.
On 15 March 2011, after a 5-year hiatus, The Darkness announced a reunion. The following year they released their third studio album, Hot Cakes. Drummer Ed Graham was replaced by Emily Dolan Davies for the album Last of Our Kind (2015), she left the band before the album was even released. With their new drummer, Rufus Taylor, The Darkness have released two studio albums: Pinewood Smile (2017) and Easter Is Cancelled (2019).
